Making her first appearance as Saturday Night Live ’s musical guest since 2011, Cher performed two songs from her 2023 Christmas album titled, simply, Christmas. She was flanked by backup dancers for “DJ Play a Christmas Song” and covered Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run.”

Bowen Yang concluded his seven-year run as an SNL cast member with an emotional final sketch that featured Grande and Cher. Starring as a Delta One Lounge employee working his final shift, Yang left viewers crying with his heartfelt words spoken while appearing to hold back tears.

Ariana Grande made her third appearance as a host for Saturday Night Live on December 20, an episode that also bid farewell to cast member Bowen Yang.
