While those are the playoff implications for this Christmas Day slate, one of the other storylines will be the onslaught of injuries at quarterback for an array of these teams suiting up on Thursday. The Commanders, Vikings and Chiefs will all be starting backups, which sort of feels like a lump of coal, but we'll make do.

The Denver Broncos rolled into Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars riding an 11-game win streak with visions of clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. The Jaguars had other ideas. Sparked by another big game from quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars steamrolled the Broncos' vaunted defense in Denver to secure a 34-20 win.

Broncos inside linebacker Justin Strnad ( foot) is the only active-roster player who has been ruled out for Week 16. Strnad might be a candidate for injured reserve, and if he does land on IR, that would open up a spot for fellow linebacker Karene Reid ( hamstring ), who returned to practice this week and is now eligible to return.

At 11-4 after beating the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Chargers are now only one game behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West with two games to play.
