The first drift by hand at the swage block for the 30lb sledge. So important to keep the eye straight vertically and horizontally. Each side needs one round like this, then rotated to keep everything in line. After that flipped and drifted from each side. So while the sledge hammer eye is getting larger and closer to its final dimension everything must be kept tidy and even. Every side and every blow needs small adjustments to keep everything properly aligned. This is done until the end of this
